New in the nursery this week is the rare/endangered Grevillea tenuiloba - a low growing WA species which features showy yellow/orange flowers for most of the year. Grafted plants have allowed this beautiful species - which is restricted to isolated populations in the wild - to be more widely grown in the east. Photos here are garden plants growing near Corunna (images by Silverdory Productions). Grafted plants in stock are not flowering yet - but most are in bud. Limited numbers available so drop in this weekend to add one of these amazing grevs to your collection! Keith. #inthenursery #grevilleas #nativeplants

Nyssa sylvatica - Tupelo - is an outstanding small deciduous tree famous for its vivid autumn show of foliage transforming from green to yellow, orange and red in autumn. This year we were fortunate to source advanced stock of the new Nyssa sylvatica Forum which grows faster and with more consistent form and autumn colour than the regular Tupelo. These trees have proven to very popular so we now only have the one plant left in the nurery. We wont get these back into stock again now for some so if you are looking for a stunning feature tree - or already have a collection of Tupelos and want to add an extra advanced plant - drop by and grab this last one! Hydrangea quercifolia `Snow Queen` is an award winning Oak Leaf Hydrangea which features large, deeply textured, leathery leaves which turn red/purple in autumn and well into winter. Upright panicles of white flowers (which later fade to pink) are prominently displayed above the new green foliage from spring into summer making Snow Queen a showy feature plant across all four seasons. Can be grown in a range of conditions from deep shade to full sun if some protection is provided from hot afternoon sun and wind. Now is a great time to add one of these stunning foliage plants to the garden to enjoy the autumn show they provide. Keith. #inthenursery #foliage #hydrangeas #autumn

With Autumn fast approaching we are starting to add more deciduous trees with colourful seasonal foliage to our collection. This week we are expecting fresh stock of the outstanding Cotinus varieties Flame and Grace in the nursery. Both of these deciduous shrubs / small trees feature stunning autumn foliage (examples pictured below) plus panicles of small flowers in spring and early summer which give these plants their common name of Smoke Bush.

We also already have in stock a good range of larger deciduous trees that can provide both autumn colour and summer shade - including Chinese Elm, Persian Witch Hazel, Tupelo, Claret Ash, Canadian Maple, Japanese Maple and Crepe Myrtles. Our trees are all established, pot-grown plants and now is the ideal time to add these to your garden. Keith. #inthenursery #cotinus #autumn #trees

Waratahs are now available in a wide range of colours and smaller growing hybrids but theres still nothing quite like having a beautiful original red flowering form adding some distinctive native colour to your spring garden. We currently have two great red flowering forms in the nursery - Gembrook and Corroboree - which both do well in local conditions. Keith. #inthenursery #waratahs #nativeplants
