‘Raspberry Dream’ has turned out to be one of the best new grevillea hybrids released in recent years. Responds well to light prune and can easily be kept as a neat, small shrub.
We have limited numbers still in stock this weekend - we’re open 9am to 1pm on Sunday in Tilba Tilba.

Croweas, Correas and Philothecas are all great options for autumn and winter native colour in the garden. These compact shrubs do well in both full-sun and part-shade and are ideal in either native or mixed gardens where larger shrubs create dappled light.
All of these widely grown species prefer well drained soil which can retain some moisture over summer. If you don't have these ideal soil conditions because of heavy clay soils or 'hungry' sandy which doesn't retain moisture then a simple solution for these species (and pretty much all native plants) is the addition of a native potting mix when planting. Our preferred native mix has excellent structure which helps dilute clay or sand issues plus soil hydrating agents which helps with more effective watering over the dryer months. This is a great match for most native plants in local conditions.
We're open 9am to 2pm, Thursday to Sunday in Tilba Tilba, NSW if you're after more autumn and winter colour for your native garden this autumn - plus the right soil mix to get your plants off to the best start.

Look at that colour
We have limited numbers of grafted Eremophila niveas back in stock over Easter. This distinctive WA native shrub features beautiful, soft silver foliage and mauve flowers which largely appear from late winter to early spring (with some spot flowering at other times). The soft, silver foliage makes this a striking contrast plant in any garden with just the occasional a light prune required to keep it bushy.
E. nivea is usually difficult to keep alive on its own roots in the more humid conditions of SE Australia but grafted plants have proven to be hardy in a wide range of conditions and soils. A full-sun position with good air flow and no crowding from other plants is recommended.

Trigger plants (Stylidium) are beautiful and interesting small Australian wildflowers which are increasingly being enjoyed by gardeners as new cultivated forms become available. They are known as 'trigger plants' because of the unusual flowers which feature a column that is triggered by visiting insects and then springs upwards to deposit pollen on the head or back of the pollinator.
We have two select forms in stock this week : Stylidium Dinosaur Grass ‘Raptor’ (40cm x 40cm) and the slightly more compact Stylidium Dinosaur Grass ‘Pinkasaurus’ (25cm x 25cm). Most forms feature fine grey foliage and yellow button flowers across the warmer months but we also have the 'Petit Blanc' variety in stock with white flowers and darker green foliage.
Santolinas love a sunny spot in the garden and can even be grown in dry spots with poorer soil. Their compact habit means they can be used for low hedging and borders or mass plantings. They also do well in pots and containers.

Banksia integrifolia ‘Roller Coaster’ is back in stock. This prostrate form is a vigorous and hardy ground cover well suited to coastal areas.
Banksia integrifolia (Coast banksia) is a hardy local native which features bright yellow flowers in autumn and winter and is particularly well suited to coast plantings with sandy soils and high exposure to salt and wind.
While the typical plant grows into a small tree and is a bit large for many gardens the prostrate 'Roller Coaster' form only grows 10-15cm high and is a vigorous and hardy ground cover. It can grow to 4m wide but can easily be pruned back to the required size. It can therefore be used as a cascading ground cover on banks, in rockeries or borders.
We have new stock of Banksia 'Roller Coaster' in the nursery this week. We’re currently open 9am to 2pm, Thursday to Sunday, in Tilba Tilba, NSW.
